A Charming Anniversary

This past weekend, the one-year anniversary of my website elapsed, but this fall season also marks the two-year anniversary of Charming Chatter as a whole. Many new readers may not realize it, but Charming Chatter started as a little weekly section for my school’s media club website, The Bolt. With the help of my hardworking mentors, we were able to conceptualize a logo, set up a posting schedule, and go back and forth with late-night edits before the posts made it live. I remember this time in my life as the testing period. I tried to figure out what type of articles did best and what themes people found the most captivating. I discovered the optimal word count to ensure readers would not be deterred by endless rambling, teaching me how to make my words worthwhile. The confidence I developed during this time pushed me to give Charming Chatter its own space to grow.

After hours of designing my website, and many moments second-guessing my decision, my first article, titled “Back and Better Than Ever,” went live, marking the beginning of an independent era. I am the PR intern sending out email notifications and thank you messages to new subscribers. I am the staff editor, the creative director, and also the head writer. While my roles have multiplied, the essence and soul of Charming Chatter remains intact. Above all, the unwavering support of those who actively enjoy my articles will always fill my heart with gratitude and appreciation. If it wasn't for every individual willing to give me a moment of their time, Charming Chatter would simply be a folder on my desktop. I never take for granted the thoughtful comments, gracious reshares, and individuals willing to discuss ideas from my articles with me in person. This sense of community makes Charming Chatter such a meaningful part of my life. Even though it sometimes feels like I am just alone in my room writing silly little blog posts, every reader reminds me of the power of "beautiful words and stories".

For my blog anniversary, I would like to thank the people who helped Charming Chatter become what it is today. Thank you to all my readers, both newcomers and “day one” supporters; you prove that my long hours of nitpicking are worth it. For this post, I would like everyone to comment articles you would like to see in the future and any fun challenges or “week-long” themes that pique your interest. No one is alone in this world. Even if you do not realize it, someone in your life believes your dreams are worthwhile.
